There are only two reasons why you’ve arrived at this site. The first reason, you are a friend and decided to Google my last name and the second reason is by pure accident. There is only one page assigned to this domain, in all fairness it does not attract much traffic. It was free when I signed up for an email account. So to make good use of the domain name I started searching for some content. They will all somehow relate to the word “Biram”. I did have some fun doing it and I hope you enjoy the content. Biram Family Crest and Name History The name Biram reached English shores for the first time with the ancestors of the Biram family as they migrated following the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Biram family lived at Bryram, a township in the parish of Brotherton, in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Before English spelling was standardised a few hundred years ago, spelling variations of names were a common occurrence. Elements of Latin, Norman French and other languages became incorporated into English throughout the Middle Ages, and name spellings changed even among the literate. The variations of the surname Biram include Byrom, Byram, Byrum, Birom, Biram and others. First found in Lancashire where they held a family seat from very early times and were granted lands by Duke William of Normandy, their liege Lord, for their distinguished assistance at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A.D. In England at this time, the uncertainty of the political and religious environment of the time caused many families to board ships for distant British colonies in the hopes of finding land and opportunity, and escaping persecution. The voyages were expensive, crowded, and difficult. Village of Biram The location is upper Galilee Palestine. The entrance is a pleasant national park area, an ancient Roman temple that had been converted into a synagogue by the Jewish community in the third century in the Christian era. The ruins of another synagogue are nearby. A sign at the entrance to the park tells part of the history of the displacement of the villages. It leaves out the hundreds of years when this village of Biram was the home of the Melkite Christians, generations of Palestinian families who cared for the land. The BIRAM musical Instrument The BIRAM is a traditional instrument used by the Boudouma tribe in Eastern Niger. They are fishing nomads living on the border of lake Tchad. The instrument has 5 strings and looks like a mini harp, the form is shaped as a pirogue, such as those wooden barks used on the lake. It is played only by initiated masters. To the Boudouma tribe The Biram is a holy instrument, protected from the east by the spirit of the lake and especially the ancestor of the Boudouma tribe, Kargila and from the south, west and north by the spirits of the desert bordering lake Tchad.
